A friendly sight

I was on another adventure close to the home I am staying at while I finish recovering, and a Pileated Woodpecker crossed my path. Once again another spirit animal is guiding my way. As I mentioned in my last post, I look to nature and those around me for guidance and messages from those I love. Since the universe is made up of matter we are all part of the universe including small creatures like chipmunks to birds like this Pileated Woodpecker

This lovely bird proceeded to chatter with me for a good minute; sending out his messages of strength and love to all those around me at the time. He was beautiful and graceful yet you could see he was just passing by and on his own journey. He even took a moment to show me his beautiful plumage. Although he is the largest of his woodpecker family he was not brute. He was determined to send out his calls to all those who could see him. I feel honoured to have been graced with his short yet strong presence

My mother loved birds. She was an avid bird watcher and loved to discover new species and read up on them so she could get to know them. Now I know why she did these things. Discovering their significance and symbolism in her life helped her get through the toughest times.
